Fires . In southern France, firefighters and rescuers continue to fight fires for the fourth consecutive day. In the Var, between 10,000 and 12,000 people were evacuated during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday and about 7,000 hectares of vegetation have already gone up in smoke. On the spot, more than 550 firefighters, some of whom came as reinforcements, fight against the flames. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Wednesday night in Bormes-Les-Mimosas that the situation on the front of fires in southeastern France remained “intense” and “difficult” but “improved”.
